Have you ever heard the term “a good ole cup of Joe”. Even though I’ve heard that term, I never knew where it came from or why. I decided to do some good ole research through Google and interesting enough there are many choices for the meaning of good ole cup of Joe as well as opinions of what the term means … but …. it is an American slang term for coffee that originated in the 20th century. The consensus is that JOE refers to an average man, the average Joe, cup of Joe, etc. It could simply be a reference to an ordinary persons drink but whatever your take is on that term for most of us coffee is a good friend. Like any friend we have given a few nicknames to those we endure.
Speaking of cup of Joe….Here at the Craft Gallery, stop by and try some locally roasted coffee by Go & Tell coffee. They offer a variety of different countries throughout the year. My personal favorite is from El Salvador and it comes in ground or K-pods. I never thought I would be roasting my own coffee but it has been an eye opener of how the process flows. It all starts with a batch of green coffee beans. In less than 15 minutes in the roaster for light to medium roast and longer for the dark roast. Some people prefer dark roast but for me personally I prefer the lighter to medium because of the flavor or of the beans. Why the name Go & Tell? My dad was a missionary in El Salvador for many years up to the time he passed at 86. His mission was to Go & Tell the love of Christ Jesus, John 3:16. I decided to name my coffee in his memory. Come shop for some good ole coffee and enjoy the rest of your day.
